BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAINEERING
The designers are Samuel, a co-founder of ROWING BLAZERS, and Peter, known as the designer for WYTHE.
With a proven track record in vintage research and design, they drew inspiration from the early American alpinists and mountaineers who shaped outdoor style from the 1950s to the 1970s, as well as the pioneers of innovative gear.
While honoring past designs, the collection incorporates playful "twists" throughout, resulting in high-quality pieces with a nostalgic, vintage feel.
The brand name is derived from "The Big Rock Candy Mountain," a folk song released by Harry McClintock in 1927. It proposes new outdoor wear where the adventurous spirit of old America intersects with a modern design sensibility.
BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAINEERING, which we started handling this season, is an American brand.
Its name comes from an old folk song that has been sung in America since the late 1920s. It's a story that sings of the "utopia (paradise) freed from the suffering of labor" that vagrants, who didn't know what tomorrow would bring, dreamed of during the Great Depression.

The key point, I believe, is that this brand, with its romantic yet somewhat melancholic name, doesn't simply offer "vintage reproductions."
While the logos and illustrations are catchy, they also place importance on the fabrics and sewing, producing high-quality items.
This season, we've received cut-and-sew tops, caps, and accessories (such as bags and socks).
The caps, in particular, have a deep 6-panel design that is well-suited for Japanese people, so we believe they will flatter many individuals.
At the root of their creative philosophy is a deep respect for "clothing as tools," inspired by outdoor and workwear from the 1950s to 1970s. We hope you can sense that in their products.
We also highly recommend their autumn/winter outerwear, so please look forward to that as well.
