Samuel Zelig

2019 BRAND START

It was started by two designers: the son of the founder of American denim brand True Religion, and his grandfather a famous American artist.

Later, the latter left the group, and a friend from his fashion school days, who was working as a designer at Ralph Lauren, joined the brand, where he remains to this day.

Samuel Zelig is inspired by American sportswear and workwear from the 1930s to 1950s, and is committed to redefining the meaning of workwear for a modern audience by faithfully following the traditions and details found in the clothing of that time while designing using modern sewing and dyeing techniques.

The two designers, who have a deep knowledge of vintage clothing, envision a "Dream Vintage" (a dream-like vintage piece that does not exist, but would be worth immeasurable if it did), and design items based on that vision.

All designs, from patchwork to embroidery, are original by the designer. He pays homage to various elements of old America, such as culture and art, and creates illustrations that add his own unique interpretation.

This is the first arrival of Samuel's 25AW collection.
This time we will introduce two themes.

・RESTAURANT
・VARSITY

(RESTAURANT)

One of the designer's favorite restaurants is the long-established Musso & Frank Grill in Los Angeles. Founded in 1919, it's one of Hollywood's oldest restaurants. The interior retains the atmosphere of the time it first opened, with red leather seats, faded wallpaper, and martini glasses, making it feel like you've traveled back in time. The waiters also wear traditional uniforms, striking in two colors: bright red and deep forest green.

This season (AW25), our designs were inspired by a number of classic American restaurants. We created a fictional restaurant called "The Sycamore." We embroidered waiters, chefs, bartenders, food, glassware, cutlery, and more to evoke the nostalgic atmosphere of an American diner. We also have styles inspired by the colors of the uniforms at our favorite restaurants. One is a vibrant red quarter-zip sweatshirt, and the other is a deep forest green raglan sleeve hoodie.

Restaurant jacket.

It's crafted from 10oz cotton twill with a vintage wash treatment that gives it a distinctive sun-bleached finish.

It has been washed so it won't shrink. The stitching is triple stitched and the sleeves are cuffed.

We also recommend wearing it rolled up. The buttons are made of Italian Cobrax, so you can enjoy the aging of the buttons.

It comes as a set, but it also looks great worn over denim or chinos.

The size is such that you can wear it over a hoodie or sweatshirt when it gets cold, so I think it can be worn for a long period of time.

Personally, I would like to combine it with brown pants for a one-tone look this season.

Restaurant pants that go well with the jacket above.

It's made from the same 10oz cotton twill fabric and has been given a vintage wash treatment to give it a unique sun-bleached finish.

This item has also been washed so it won't shrink. The waist is elastic and can be adjusted with a drawcord.

At this time of year, you can just pair it with a T-shirt. The pants were especially popular last time, so be sure to get yours soon.

Restaurant zip pullover sweatshirt.

Made from 15 oz thick cotton French terry, the zipper is made by Riri, a premium Swiss zipper manufacturer.

It has a vintage wash treatment that gives it a unique sun-bleached finish.

A faded red that is not bright red, but has a vintage feel, is easier to incorporate.

(VARSITY / National Team, University)

For AW 25, we focused on vintage sweatshirts and jackets made by athletic departments (departments that oversee athletic club and sports activities at universities and schools) and aimed to reconstruct them with our own interpretation.

Each item features an original design featuring the club's crest, mascot, team members, and various characters.

The jacket was designed with the idea in mind: if a football player were to add some personality to his club jacket, what elements would he add? For example, the jacket is decorated with sketches of the Sycamore Academy football team, the wearer's uniform number "52," the Sycamore Academy crest, and characters the wearer may have drawn from conversations with friends.

The embroidery used by this design group (VARSITY) is done with a whimsical and playful touch to represent the humor and inside jokes shared among students.

The cream-colored body is decorated with colorful embroidery.
This unique sweatshirt is one of Samuel's most pop designs, and its color scheme makes it perfect as an inner layer for a jacket or coat.

Half-zip sweatshirts are hard to find, even when searching vintage, especially when it comes to loose-fitting sizes for men.

The faded black gives it a nice atmosphere.
The embroidery on the back is particularly nice, so you'll want to wear it on its own.

That's all for this time's introduction.

The next shipment is scheduled for September or later.

We look forward to your visit.
