This cap was likely made to promote the band Santana.

Born in Mexico in July 1947. Influenced by his father, a mariachi violinist, he began playing the violin at age 5 and the guitar at age 8. He moved to San Francisco and formed the band "Santana Blues Band" in 1966. He debuted as "Santana" in 1969 and performed at the Woodstock Festival in the same year. Although he was a virtually unknown newcomer outside of San Francisco, his shocking performance captivated large audiences and he quickly became popular across the United States.

His debut album Santana reached number 4 on the US charts, his second album Abraxas (1970) reached number 1 on the US charts, and the single Black Magic Woman reached number 4 on the US charts, becoming Santana's early representative work. His third album Santana III (1971) also reached number 1 on the US charts. "Aishuu no Europa" from his seventh album Amigo (1976) is a masterpiece that defines Santana's "sensual guitar" and is especially popular in Japan. His solo album Blues for Salvador (1987) won the 1989 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, his first Grammy win. Santana's 18th album "Supernatural" released in 1999, which featured collaborations with various artists, was a huge breakthrough. Santana's first US No. 1 hit single "Smooth", featuring Rob Thomas (Vo) of Matchbox Twenty, was No. 1 on the Billboard charts for 12 consecutive weeks, and the album also achieved an astonishing success of being No. 1 for 12 consecutive weeks. The following single "Maria Maria" also recorded No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks, and after achieving the unprecedented feat of monopolizing the No. 1 spot on the US charts for about half a year with two singles, the band won nine Grammy Awards in 2000, including the highest honors of "Best Album" and "Best Song". "Supernatural" sold about 30 million copies, the highest sales in the history of Santana's career.
