Filson was founded in 1897 in Seattle, Washington, as an "outdoor clothing manufacturer" for those taking on the Gold Rush. To cope with the harsh conditions of gold mining, which can be extremely harsh on clothing, the company began producing apparel using the finest natural materials and uncompromising design and stitching.
