REDUCTION FACTORY. is a ceramics brand from Tohoku that was launched in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture in 2016 by ceramic designer Kuntaro Abe and moved its base to Iwate Prefecture in 2024.
This is a self-made brand that was started with the idea that by having direct contact with material selection, techniques, mixing, firing, etc., I would be able to further deepen my knowledge as a ceramic designer.

Based on the idea of "100 things that enrich the lives of 100 people," the brand strives to make its products as inexpensive and easy to purchase as possible, and while they are reproducible products, they are decorated in a way that allows individual differences so that buyers can choose from them.

Ceramic designer and engineer. Born in Hanamaki City in 1975.

After completing graduate school, he studied abroad at KONST FACK K&G (Sweden) in 2000.

After working for a ceramics manufacturer in Thailand for two years, he returned to Japan in 2006 and is based in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture.

Since then, as a ceramic designer and engineer, he has presented products in collaboration with companies and designers both in Japan and overseas.

Since 2016, he has been running his own self-made brand, "REDUCTION FACTORY."

In 2020, he became the brand director of "zen to", and in 2025, he became the brand director of "HONGOWARE", Aizu Hongo ware in Fukushima Prefecture.

His representative works include "HASAMI PORCELAIN" and "Common".

Reduction Factory's tableware has a craft feel but also an atmosphere similar to foreign products.

The shape and appearance are simple yet easy to use in everyday life. The uniformity is also a key point.

Although it has a strong presence, it does not stand out too much when paired with food, but rather enhances it.

They are thick, sturdy, and difficult to chip, and can be used in the microwave. Many of them can also be stacked, making them easy to store.

We strive to minimize stock shortages and ensure that standard tableware items are always available to purchase.

We would also like you to appreciate the individual differences in the surface that arise from subtle differences in firing temperature.
