2019 BRAND START

It was started by two designers: the son of the founder of American denim brand True Religion, and his grandfather a famous American artist.

Later, the latter left the group, and a friend from his fashion school days, who was working as a designer at Ralph Lauren, joined the brand, where he remains to this day.

Samuel Zelig is inspired by American sportswear and workwear from the 1930s to 1950s, and is committed to redefining the meaning of workwear for a modern audience by faithfully following the traditions and details found in the clothing of that time while designing using modern sewing and dyeing techniques.

The two designers, who have a deep knowledge of vintage clothing, envision a "Dream Vintage" (a dream-like vintage piece that does not exist, but would be worth immeasurable if it did), and design items based on that vision.

All designs, from patchwork to embroidery, are original by the designer. He pays homage to various elements of old America, such as culture and art, and creates illustrations that add his own unique interpretation.

Introducing the final delivery of Samuel's 25AW collection. This is the last and personally the best arrival I've been waiting for.

・FILM

Film plays a big role in our designs, but for this group we made film a particularly prominent theme.

Our film club, the Silver Screen Society, is at the heart of the designs. Each piece features embroidered fictional film posters, storyboard-style patches, and illustrations that celebrate the shared experience of watching movies. The embroidered color palette is muted, evoking a silent film vibe, while also showcasing a variety of tones beyond black and white.

Within the group are two series: one style that uses a toned olive color scheme, and the other style that uses a toned mauve color scheme.

Film jacket.

The outer fabric is made of 8 oz cotton herringbone. Most Samuel jackets are single-layered and unlined, but this one has a solid lining. Compared to other Samuel jackets, this one has a stronger outerwear feel.

You can choose a larger size and wear it as an outer layer by wearing a knit or other item underneath.

It has a shape similar to a stadium jacket, but it has no collar, making it easy to wear. The relaxed silhouette makes it perfect with wide pants such as slacks.

He's my personal favorite Samuel this season.

Film crew neck.

Made from 5 oz heavyweight cotton French terry, it features set-in sleeves and flatlock seams for a comfortable fit.

The color was created with particular attention to detail. It's a mix of brown and pink. In sunlight, it appears a lighter pink.

The front features a filming scene. The back features embroidery reminiscent of a movie jacket. The sleeves feature a motif reminiscent of a scene from the movie.

What movie is this? It's fun to imagine.

If you're a movie lover, you won't want to miss it.

The last thing we'll introduce is film pants.

Samuel pants are made in spring/summer and fall/winter, and the thickness of the fabric remains the same regardless of the season, so you can wear pants with your favorite design all year round.

Made from 8 oz cotton herringbone fabric, the waist is elastic and adjustable with a drawcord.

Compared to other pants, these are covered in intricate embroidery, including a scene from the movie and a woman with the same motif as the back of the jacket.

Of course, it pairs perfectly with the film jacket, but I would also like to wear it with a plain sweatshirt or a V-neck knit.

The film series as a whole is not widely available in Japan, so please order early.
